This policy explains how TraderReviewer ("we") processes personal data when you use TraderReviewer, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés).
1. Data controller
The data controller is TraderReviewer. You can contact us about privacy matters at privacy@trader-reviewer.com.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Review data: display name, email address, rating, review text and information you choose to share about your experience with a broker.
- Contact data: name, email address, phone number (optional), subject and message when you use the contact form.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location, collected through server logs and, with your consent, analytics cookies.
- Preferences: your language choice and your cookie consent choices.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process your data for the following purposes:
- Publishing and moderating user reviews - performance of our terms of use (contract) and our legitimate interest in providing reliable reviews.
- Responding to your requests sent through the contact form - legitimate interest and pre-contractual steps.
- Securing the site, preventing fraud and abuse - legitimate interest.
- Measuring audience and improving the site - your consent (analytics cookies).
- Marketing measurement and advertising - your consent (marketing cookies).
- Complying with legal obligations - legal obligation.
4. Recipients and processors
Your data is accessible to authorised staff of TraderReviewer and to service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, analytics), bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. Published reviews display your chosen display name only; your email address is never published.
5. International transfers
Some providers (for example analytics or advertising tools) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this is the case we rely on appropriate safeguards such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:
- Reviews: for as long as they are published, then archived for up to 3 years for evidence purposes.
- Contact requests: up to 3 years after our last exchange.
- Server logs: up to 12 months.
- Cookie consent choices: 6 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. You may also define directives regarding your data after your death.
To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@trader-reviewer.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, logging) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.
